Owner must send a Request to Management for a Hunting authorization letter.Once received, Management verifies that the requestor is an owner, they will issue a letter stating you are approved to hunt.You must carry a copy of the letter with you while hunting (along with your hunting license)You are allowed to have 1 guests (Non-Property Owner) with you while hunting. Property owner must be within visual proximity of the guest at all times.Property owner and guest may be accompanied by 1 youth hunter 16 years or younger. Hunting on a lot other than your own requires written permission from the lot owner. Proof of permission must be carried on person while hunting. All hunters must wear blaze orange hunting apparel while hunting. If a lot adjacent to your property has a structure on it then hunting on your lot is limited to bow hunting only.

As an owner an owner of property in the Lawnes Point on the James Subdivision you are authorized to hunt in the common areas; the area in the center of the community bordered on the left by Fort Hugger Drive, Creekway Drive, Lawnes Creek Drive and Lawnes Neck Drive, hunting is subject to the following restrictions:All hunting must comply with all federal, Commonwealth and local laws and ordnances.2019-20 LPOJ Property owners Hunting guidelinesAs a property owner in the Lawnes Point on the James Subdivision you are authorized to hunt on your lot. If a lot adjacent to your property has a structure on it then hunting on your lot is limited to bow hunting only.You may also apply for a Hunting Authorization Letter (HAL) to hunt in the common areas. This area is primarily the interior of the community bordered by Fort Hugger Drive, Creekway Drive, Lawnes Creek Drive and Lawnes Neck Drive.To obtain a HAL for the common area, property owners must send a Request to Management. The HALs are limited to a total of 20 per year. Priority will be given to those property owners who held a HAL the previous year. If more than 20 property owners apply for an HAL then a waiting list will be established.Once received, Management verifies that the requestor is a property owner and will then issue a hunting permit stating you are approved to hunt in the common area. You must carry the permit with you while hunting (along with your hunting license).· The approved HAL will be accompanied by a Vehicle Placard that must be openly displayed on the vehicles dashboard.· Hunting is subject to the following restrictions:1. All hunting must comply with all federal, Commonwealth and local laws and ordnances.2. No dogs shall be used while hunting in Lawnes Point in the James subdivision.3. No hunting is authorized within 150 feet of any paved roadway. At no time shall hunters shoot across paved roadways.4. You are allowed to have 1 guest (non-property owner) with you while hunting. Property owner must be within visual proximity of the guest at all times.5. Property owner and guest may be accompanied by 1 youth hunter 16 years or younger.6. Hunting on a lot other than your own requires written permission from the lot owner. Proof of permission must be carried on person while hunting.7. The assessments for the Association are set by the Board of Directors. The current assessment rate is $1,200 per year. Assessment payment is due on February 1, 2024.

The Sewer system in Lawnes Point on the James is a privately maintained system. The Association is not responsible for the maintenance or the fees. For service, you now must call HRSD at 757-460-2491 and select the Lawnes Point option.
